I remember when I had accommodation issues during my NYSC year. All it took was one phone call from you, and I spent an entire year in Ibadan at the ECWA Guest House without paying a dime. Everywhere I went, once people heard I was Grandpa Odofin’s granddaughter, I was met with kindness and respect. Time and again, I heard stories of the lives you touched and the doors you opened for others years before. You paved the way for me long before I even knew it.
I am grateful that you witnessed me walk down the aisle. I am thankful that I made that visit before I got married, as you insisted, and for the words of wisdom, advice, and prayers you poured into my life. Those words are forever etched in my heart.
Thank you for being such an incredible example to our family. Thank you for holding us together. Thank you for cultivating a spirit of unity, love, and faith among us. Thank you for showing us what it means to follow Christ, not just in words but through your life.
Even now, saying that you are gone feels strange. Yet reading the countless stories and tributes from people whose lives you impacted makes me smile through the tears. Your legacy continues to inspire me to shine even brighter for Christ, just as you did.
It hurts. It hurts a whole lot. We miss you more than words can express. But we take solace in God and God alone. While we mourn your absence, we do not mourn without hope. We rejoice in the promise that one day, on the resurrection morning, we will see you again.

He was a man who traded his comfort for the sanity of Lagos roads and wore his STM uniform like a badge of divine assignment.
*An Unmatched Legacy of Sacrifice*
While many saw the traffic gridlocks of Lagos as an insurmountable frustration, Rev’d Dr. Odofin saw them as a battlefield where order must conquer chaos.
* *The Anchor of Fagba*: As the Coordinator of the Fagba Unit, he stood as a pillar of hope. He tamed the wildest bottlenecks with a calm smile, an authoritative presence, and a heart full of passion.
* *A Vision for a Better Lagos*: His every sweat drop on the asphalt was driven by a fierce, unrelenting dream of a greater, safer, and gridlock-free Lagos State. He believed that civic order was a reflection of godliness.
* *Unfailing Consistency*: Week after week, regardless of the scorching sun, the torrential downpours, or the vulnerabilities of age, Baba was there. His sacrifice in attending *all our weekly operations* shamed the lukewarm and electrified the passionate. He did not just command; he led from the frontlines.
*A Pillar of Support at the State Level*
Beyond his immediate jurisdiction in Fagba, Rev’d Dr. Odofin’s influence radiated across the entire state. He was a dependable pillar of support to the STM State Command, offering wise counsel, spiritual anchoring, and unwavering loyalty to the growth of the organization. He poured his resources, time, and intellect into ensuring that the Special Traffic Mayor scheme stood tall as a premium partner in Lagos State’s traffic management architecture.
*The Sunset of a General*
To the world, he was a revered theologian and a spiritual shepherd. To us at STM, he was a *Civic Saint*. He proved to us that true ministry does not end within the four walls of a church building—it extends to the chaotic intersections of life where humanity needs direction, patience, and love.
Though his whistle is silent and his reflective vest is laid down, the tracks of his boots on the roads of Fagba can never be washed away. He has joined the celestial ranks, leaving behind a roadmap of pure, selfless volunteerism.

“AGBA OYE- REV. J.B.ODOFIN
From a humble beginning, and as a result of personal aspiration, vision, determination, commitment and trust on the Almighty God, he did not only up-scaled his personal status but also that of the family at large. His capacity to cross-relate and cross pollenate with people of different ages, genders, creeds and circumstances was unprecedented and legendary.
He grew up in Mushin and in the Church; his mother was a member of the Ore-Ofe group in ECWA Mushin Yoruba. With God’s grace and through his commitment and leadership skills, he became the Youth leader in the Church circa 1977.
The youth fellowship under his watch was very active and, in conjunction with some other people organized crusades in some places in Ogun state which God used to establish ECWA in Kere and reinvigorate some local assemblies like ECWA Ijebu-Ode. He got married to his beautiful wife in the Church while Reverend J. Bodunrin performed the solemnization as the Minister in charge.
Answering the call to serve in God’s vineyard, he went to the seminary in 1984. He served in many local Church (LC), including being the pioneering Senior Pastor of the Decross Ministry, before he was eventually transferred to ECWA Mushin, English LC and Yoruba LC together. He was the senior Minister for both LC from August 2001 to December 2004 and he was the last Minister that served in that capacity.
While being our Minister, in the Yoruba Church, God used him immensely to expand the frontiers of Christianity among us. The following were some of the salient areas we felt his impact:
House Fellowship centers. These centers were established, among other reasons, to improve members relationship with God and with one another through Bible reading, exhortation, prayers and songs. They were also supposed to be conduits for evangelism, bringing in new members to the body of Christ. To the glory of God, a prominent center then, the Ilupeju House Fellowship, is still waxing strong even till date.
The purchase of a 30-seater Mercedes Benz bus, which aided the response of the Church choir and members, for outside evangelistic engagements.
Divine Commitment Offering: when the building of the current English Church was being stalled due to paucity of funds, God inspired him to challenge the Church members to give offerings that we referred as ‘divine commitment’. This was done once in a month, and this continued even after he exit from the Church to other service areas. The donations received through this inspired means went a big way to rejuvenate our giving to the project.
We never saw you got annoyed, even at board meetings, where tension was usually very high. We missed your infectious smiles and laughs. Rev. Odofin, where is your charisma, lost to the winds? Nope, you are always in our minds, our memories of you are salutary and we believe very strongly that one day, we shall meet once again and part no more.

The memory of the righteous is a lasting blessing, and the legacy of Rev. J.B. Odofin remains forever etched in my heart. He was not just a pastor; he was a true spiritual father who walked with me through the foundational years of my faith. When I was just a young believer, full of questions and seeking direction, Papa took it upon himself to groom, mentor, and anchor me in the word of God.
His patience, unwavering faith, and deep love for the Lord served as the compass that guided my spiritual growth. He taught me what it means to live a life dedicated to Christ, modeling integrity, humility, and prayer in everything he did. The depth of my relationship with God today is a direct reflection of the spiritual foundation he so selflessly helped me build.
Though our hearts are heavy with his transition, we comfort ourselves with the knowledge that he fought a good fight, finished his course, and has been called to glory to receive his crown.

The executive, council and entire members of ECWA Lagos West District Church Council commiserate with Mama Christiana Odofin, the Children and the entire family members on the demise of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
Late Rev.Dr.J.B Odofin was an icon, a General in God's army. He was an embodiment of both knowledge and spirituality. He was one of the most highly regarded men of God in ECWA. He contributed so immensely to the advancement of God's kingdom in ECWA. He was a frontier in the fight for prayer vigil in ECWA. He served as the Secretary under the defunct Southern District Church Council (SDCC) from 1998-2001 and as the Chairman under ECWA Mushin District Church Council (MDCC) which is now renamed ECWA Lagos West District Church Council (LWDCC), 2007-2012. It was during his days in office as a Secretary to the DCC that he started a programme called "Bring Back the Glory," a programme that has become a big annual event in our district up till date. He also introduced house fellowship.
Agbaoye (1) as widely called was a good teacher of the word, a counselor per excellence, he would be missed for his sagacious approach to issues. He was a hard working man of God. He had represented our district in various platforms of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and maintained a good reputation.
After Agbaoye retired from active service, he did not fade into obscurity, you will always see him attending DCC programmes and in his usual habits, socializing himself with both young and old.
Baba Rev. J.B. Odofin has done his best and joined the saints triumphantly. Adieu to a hero, adieu to God's general, keep resting in the bosom of your maker till the resurrection morning.

The teachings and trainings you had in your yesterday years as a youth in Scripture Union and Bible Studies of Pastor W.F Kumuyi and from other Christian leaders of repute were divulged to us to shapen our lives; this makes me love " The Old Time Religion" the more. You delicately prepare study outlines, teach passionately and intentionally that the family devotion, both morning and evening were micro Bible Study. We dare not use someone else's bible as you insisted we get used to ours. No wonder your personal bible for studying is ever colourful because verses that resonates were being marked. "Your Bible is your personal property, get used to it", so you taught.
Agbaoye, you discipline and disciple with FIRMNESS and INTENTIONALITY but not STERNESS. Memory can't fail me about regular quotes you churn out over time" Others May, You Cannot; Be the Best at what you're Known For; Give others Benefit of Doubt, Service and Smile (he'ld say don't serve me frowning or with a forlorn face) among others. You never judge people easily, even when PROOFS has been PROVEN, you'ld always insist benefit of doubt be given. Can I say God is partial in bestowing on you such great grace of MAGNANIMITY; plus the ability to manage crises and give resolutions? And both parties become ally at your intervention. Resources at your disposal are ever well managed as PRUDENCE is ever your watchword. You push one to pursue a cause to the last and give positive result . Everyone is your friend irrespective of race and creed; despite your limited resources as an evangelical pastor, your hospitality and selfless virtues are top-notch. Each giving ended with these sayings" Iwon eku ni'won ite" - meaning the size of the rat determines its nest (your giving should be within your capability) and " Owo t'eku ba ni lo fi un b'oju - meaning the rat uses the hand it has to wash its face(live within your means/resources, not others). This is telling the one been given that he would have done more, but he's limited.
You were a father, friend, mentor, a resilient and dogged leader per excellent, an encourager, a counsellor, a teacher of the Word, a pastor with an unusual grace of peculiarity and dynamism, a highly erudite scholar that's meticulous about language among others.
Knowing you is knowing Christ; my friends were crashed at the news of your demise.
One wrote " Rest on Sister Julius"(on a lighter mood). You will be forever be remembered. (The Sister Julius you named yourself at Sisters' Fellowship meeting in ECWA, Mushin. English and Yoruba when you join our meetings and make positive contributions). Another wrote " Thank God for the good memories and legacies he left behind. I remember those days in ECWA, Mushin, daddy was so hospitable, fun to be with and a father to all. A father indeed has gone to rest in the bossom of the Lord".
I can go on and on writing of your impact on me and others. All of us who passed through you and ate together with you at the table are all in the ministry or married to a minister. Your legacy lives on.Your departure has created a great vacuum which God's love, comfort and care are covering and will continually cover plus the teachings and trainings you've given us.

I saw you serving your master even on your sick bed at the hospital, you were calling out to Mr. Peter, the man whose bed was next to you telling him not to loose hope when the man was feeling and acting hopeless, i was shocked but what this means to me is that the master's service must be done anywhere and everywhere we found ourselves. You are a good example of a God's general, you have fought battles a good fight of faith and have won.
Thank you for the care you showed, the encouragement you gave, and the beautiful legacy of faith and character you left behind. I will miss you deeply, Daddy.

Our heartfelt condolences go to the Late Dr Rev Julius Bamidele Odofin family, especially to matriarch leadership, His kids, direct relatives, and all of us within the Royal Ambassadors community. Indeed, we have lost a great founding patron of our community, he has faithfully and graciously supported our community throughout the years with Rev Mrs Odofin been the hand and direct coordinator of Royal Ambassador household. For the Gbujie family, this glorious event will be deeply personal to me, my siblings and @Ifeanyi Olusegun Ambass, my and younger sister @Amaka we were all alumni of the DeCross Royal Ambassadors branch of our community in the late 1990s.
We grew up alongside Moyo, Bolu, Caleb, Nathaniel, Sunday and many others under the guidance and influence of Reverend Mrs Odofin. It has been a beautiful and meaningful connection that shaped many of our Christian lives and our sociocultural reality as ambassador of Christ. While we will miss Dr. Julius Bamidele Odofin physically, we can all find comfort in the enduring legacy he leaves behind. The spirit of community, peace, brotherhood, discipline, and love that he taught us will continue to remain with us. Though he has gone to rest, we believe he has joined the saints in glory.
Some who struggled found restoration and rehabilitation through the love, structure, and spiritual guidance of the Royal Ambassadors community. Today, the fruits of his labor continue to shine through us. Those still singing continue to sing with excellence, and even those who no longer sing carry lifelong lessons learned through fellowship and service. I (Daniel) still remember vividly our trip to Obafemi Awolowo University to minister. Before we departed from the DeCross headquarters in Agege,
Reverend Odofin called us and later spoke to me and said, “Do well, sing with your heart let God be glorified, know your lines, and watch out for one another. Because someone day you Daniel and especially Ifeanyi will be great ambassador for the kingd .” He prayed for us before we boarded the bus, and we journeyed together to Obafemi Awolowo University, ministered in song, and returned safely. That moment has remained with me as a reflection of his care, leadership, and fatherly concern. He consistently supported the Cross, encouraged our vision, and stood faithfully beside his beloved wife in ministry and service.
As Scripture teaches us, he fought the good fight, kept the faith, and finished his course (2 Timothy 4:7). It is not for us to question God’s will, but rather to appreciate the privilege of witnessing a life that was intentionally lived in service to God and humanity, trusting that “to everything there is a season” (Ecclesiastes 3:1) and that God’s purposes endure beyond our understanding (Isaiah 55:8–9). Reverend Julius B. Odofin made himself available to be used by God in a very special way, building a spiritual home for young boys and girls, many of whom found direction, discipline, healing, and purpose through his mentorship. In this, he reflected the heart of Christ, who said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” (Matthew 19:14; see also Mark 10:14). His care for young people embodied the biblical calling to “train up a child in the way he should go” (Proverbs 22:6), and many of us stayed away from trouble because of the godly values he instilled in us. Through his example, we witnessed the truth that faithful service to others is service unto God (Matthew 25:40). Rev. Dr. Julius Odofin principles, his faith, and his belief in raising young men to live purposefully and according to God’s values will continue to influence generations.
Furthermore, the Gbujies has designated my blood brother, who was our former choir master and a close family friend of Odofins to be our representative, he is to represent our interests, and keep us informed regarding any further arrangements associated with the burial rites.
Reverend Odofin, continue to rest in the bosom of the Almighty. We will carry forward the baton you passed to us: to live by God’s principles, to let our lives shine brightly before men so they may glorify our Father in heaven, and to remain faithful to the message of redemption, peace, and salvation. May soul rest in perfect hands of the Almighty. Amen.

You were a father to me. It's so surreal that you are not here. We'll visit Lagos, and I won't get a chance to see your face, make pepper soup for you, hear you sing, or watch you tease me, my husband, and Mummy. There will be no one to ask me, "How is my Mama?" (referring to Omoyeni).

As the first shepherd of Decross Gospel Mission in its early days, you devoted yourself wholeheartedly to the work of God. You tirelessly nurtured the flock, preached the Gospel with conviction, and mentored countless youths, leading many from darkness into God's marvelous light. Your passion for souls and commitment to discipleship left an indelible mark on generations.
You were more than a pastor; you were a mentor, counselor, teacher, and spiritual father. Your words of wisdom, unwavering faith, and godly example inspired many of us to remain steadfast in our Christian walk. Through your ministry, lives were transformed, destinies were shaped, and the Kingdom of God was advanced.
The news of your departure on Sunday, 24th May 2026, came as a painful shock. Yet, we take comfort in knowing that you have finished your race and kept the faith. You served faithfully as a General in God's vineyard, standing firmly for truth and righteousness until the very end.

With hearts filled with gratitude to God and deep sorrow at the loss of a beloved servant of Christ, we pay tribute to the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Julius B. Odofin, a faithful minister of the Gospel, an exemplary leader, a wise counselor, and a committed servant of God whose impact will continue to be felt for generations.
Late Rev. Dr. Julius B. Odofin served diligently as the Immediate Past President of the Alumni Association of ECWA Theological Seminary, Igbaja. During his tenure, he demonstrated exceptional leadership, vision, and commitment to the growth and unity of the Alumni Association. He understood that an association thrives when its members remain connected, engaged, and committed to a common purpose. Through his dedication and sacrificial service, he successfully reunited and strengthened the bonds among alumni members across various regions.
One of his remarkable achievements was his deliberate effort to visit different alumni centers and chapters. These visits were not mere formalities; they were opportunities to encourage members, strengthen relationships, address concerns, and rekindle the spirit of fellowship among graduates of the Seminary. His presence brought hope, encouragement, and renewed commitment wherever he went.
Rev. Dr. Odofin was a leader who understood the importance of investing in people. Under his administration, the Alumni Association sponsored faculty members of ECWA Theological Seminary, Igbaja, to attend an academic conference in Abuja. This gesture reflected his passion for theological education and his desire to see both the Seminary and its faculty continue to grow in excellence and effectiveness. His leadership was marked by practical support for the institution that helped shape his own ministry.
Beyond his administrative accomplishments, Late Rev. Dr. Odofin was a man blessed with uncommon wisdom. He possessed a calm and discerning spirit that enabled him to resolve conflicts and settle difficult issues with grace and fairness. Whenever challenges arose, many sought his counsel because they knew he would approach every matter with wisdom, humility, and a sincere desire for peace. His ability to unite people and foster harmony was one of his greatest gifts.
Before answering God's call into full-time ministry, Rev. Dr. Odofin distinguished himself as an engineer. He never abandoned the knowledge and skills he acquired in that profession. Instead, he used them for the advancement of God's work and the development of the church. His professional expertise became a valuable asset in many projects and initiatives, demonstrating that every gift and talent can be dedicated to the service of God.
Perhaps one of the most admirable qualities of Late Rev. Dr. Odofin was his humility. Despite his achievements, academic accomplishments, leadership positions, and professional background, he remained approachable, gentle, and respectful. He related with people from all walks of life without pride or self-importance. His humility reflected the character of Christ and earned him the respect and affection of many.
As a minister of the Gospel, Rev. Dr. Odofin faithfully preached and taught the Word of God. He was passionate about sound biblical teaching and committed to nurturing believers in their faith. Through his sermons, teachings, mentorship, and personal example, many lives were transformed and strengthened in their walk with God. His ministry was not merely a profession; it was a divine calling that he embraced wholeheartedly until the Lord called him home.
Today, the Church mourns the departure of a faithful servant. The Seminary community mourns the loss of a devoted alumnus and leader. The Alumni Association of ECWA Theological Seminary, Igbaja, mourns the passing of a visionary president whose contributions have left an enduring mark on the Association's history. His family, friends, colleagues, students, and countless beneficiaries of his ministry will deeply miss his presence, counsel, encouragement, and friendship.
Yet, even in our grief, we thank God for a life well lived. We thank God for his unwavering faith, sacrificial service, godly leadership, and lasting contributions to the Kingdom of God. His legacy challenges us to serve faithfully, lead humbly, love sincerely, and remain committed to the cause of Christ.
Though his voice is now silent, his works continue to speak. Though his earthly journey has ended, his influence remains. Though we shall miss him greatly, we rejoice in the assurance that he has gone to be with the Lord whom he loved and served faithfully.

With deep gratitude to God and a heart filled with mixed emotions, I write this tribute in honour of Late Dr. Julius Bamidele Odofin (JP), fondly called “Agbaoye.” His passing marks the departure of a great servant of God, a visionary leader, a mentor, and a father in the faith whose life impacted countless souls.
Dr. Odofin was more than a church leader to me; he was my mentor, guide, encourager, and father in the Lord. God used him greatly in shaping the course of my ministerial life. During his tenure as the Secretary of the then Lagos DCC of ECWA (Evangelical Church Winning All), he played a significant role in helping me to join the pastoral service. His counsel, wisdom, and support gave me the confidence and direction I needed to answer God’s call into ministry.
He was a man of integrity, humility, discipline, and uncommon dedication to the work of God. His commitment to the growth of ECWA and the spiritual development of ministers and members alike was evident in his lifestyle and service. He encouraged many young ministers, nurtured leaders, and stood firmly for truth and righteousness.
Personally, I remain deeply grateful to God for the privilege of knowing and working with him. His fatherly advice, calm disposition, and unwavering faith were a source of strength and inspiration to me throughout my years in ministry. His legacy of service, sacrifice, and commitment to Christ will continue to speak for generations to come.
Though we mourn his departure, we rejoice in the assurance that he finished his race faithfully and has gone to rest in the presence of the Lord whom he served diligently. His memory will forever remain precious in our hearts.

I can not forget the lessons you taught us in the church especially in giving. It was part of your teaching that made ECWA Agege to be so much hospitable to Shepherds of the church in which the church bought car and even help build house for some that succeeded you. Your life speaks volume and it is an epitome of of peace. The way you cheerfully responded to my call when you were in the hospital on 22/05/26 - 2 days to your home call makes me know you endured so much even in pain. This reminds me of how you endured pain at ECWA SOUTHWEST MEN FELLOWSHIP FIRST CONVENTION at Prospect High school between 1st to 3rd September 1989 in which you were the Guest Speaker. Many of us did not know you were injured during preparation and you delivered the first lecture cheerfully but on seat. Your memory will forever linger in my heart. With heavy hearts, still trying to come to terms with the sudden passing of Rev. Odofin. His departure came as a shock to us all, leaving a void that words can scarcely fill.
Rev. Odofin was more than a father, Pastor and senior family friend to us, he was a pillar of wisdom, faith, and strength. As a reverend, he devoted his life to the service of God, faithfully teaching His Word and guiding us and many along the path of righteousness. His voice carried truth, his life reflected conviction, and his presence inspired confidence in all who knew him.
He was a counsellor in the truest sense, patient, attentive, and deeply insightful. Many found direction and comfort through his guidance, and his words often brought clarity in moments of confusion.
As a teacher of the Word, he had a rare gift of making profound truths simple and applicable, leaving a lasting imprint on the hearts of those he taught.
In leadership, Rev. Odofin was disciplined and dependable, an administrator who upheld integrity and order, earning the respect and trust of all who worked with him.
Beyond all these roles, he was a devoted husband and a loving father. His family was central to his life, and he nurtured them with care, faith, and unwavering commitment.
To his beloved wife, children and the church, we extend our deepest condolences. We pray that you find strength in the legacy he leaves behind and comfort in the many lives he touched.
Though his passing was unexpected, we are grateful for a life well lived, a life of service, purpose, and impact. Rev. J.B. Odofin may no longer be with us, but his teachings, his example, and his influence will continue to live on.

“We give glory to the Almighty God for daddy Odofin. His life as an astute Administrator has no rival. His administrative skills always show fort any where he serves. Though people like him, with the gift of administration, always face a lot of oppositions and unwarranted hatreds, he was always undaunted in what he knew was right, before the Almighty God, whom he served faithfully to the end of his time. During one of his trial days in ECWA, I recall writing him a short note with the inscription; "DADDY, THEY'VE NOT REJECTED YOU, BUT THEY'VE REJECTED THE GOD THAT CALLED YOU".
I recall, like yesterday, his life of humility, even to a young Church Elder like me, serving as Treasurer in ECWA ENGLISH, MUSHIN, under him as Minister in Charge. There came a time when I've paid him his stipulated monthly stipends(which was nothing to write home about), unfortunately, he forgot that I've already issued him the money. He then, respectfully, asked me why I was delaying releasing his stipends, knowing the date for payment was over due. I had to explain to him with proof of his signature that I've already given him. He quickly, humbly, apologised to me, NOT MINDING MY AGE, as at then. That's just one, among so many times, he had demonstrated his life of humility, before a young man like me.
I and my wife, his Aduke, are eternally grateful to God, for all we've had opportunity to learn from our Beloved daddy. We'll not forget how he, together with Mommy Odofin, brought up, all their children, in the ways of our God. We've observed, over the years, that they've NOT departed from such high moral and disciplined upbringing.
Rest on Daddy Agba-oye, you are in a better place now.
You were once like us, one day, we will be like you, in death and in Eternal Glory.

Baba Odofin,
My first encounter with you was in 2008 when I came from Ilorin for a job interview with the Mushin District Church Council. By the grace of God, I secured employment with the DCC, and from that moment you took a genuine interest in me and my wife. Though I initially kept my distance out of respect for your office, your kindness toward us never wavered.
Baba, we loved you because you never missed an opportunity to hold our hands and pray for me and my wife whenever we met. During pastors’ and pastors’ wives’ retreats, you always made it a point of duty to pray for us. Thank you for your sincere love and fatherly care.
One moment I will never forget was the day you called me into your office. You explained the circumstances surrounding my posting to ECWA Mushin Yoruba and, despite all opposition, you stood firm in your position as Chairman. It was indeed a long story, but your words have remained with me ever since: “Be a pastor to all, not just to the Igbomina or Iyagba.” I held firmly to that counsel, and it guided my ministry throughout the seven years we served at ECWA Mushin Yoruba.
Baba, your love for me and my wife was immeasurable. Every time we met, your concern, encouragement, and prayers for us were evident and deeply appreciated.
I also remember when my wife served as the Headteacher of ECWA Nursery and Primary School during your tenure as Chairman of the DCC. You always made time to pray for her and encourage her toward success. Baba, you were truly a father.
The last time we saw each other was during a condolence visit to the wife of the late Pastor S. O. Dada. You wept deeply that day, not knowing that your own call to glory was near. Baba, we will greatly miss your warm, charming, and contagious smile.
Lastly, thank you for your fatherly counsel and wisdom. I remember coming to report an issue involving a senior minister and explaining what I intended to do. You simply laughed, waved it aside, and advised me not to trouble myself over it. Thank you for being a true father indeed.
Until the resurrection morning, when we shall all gather again at the feet of our Lord, rest well, Baba Odofin.

It is with a deep sense of loss and gratitude to God that I pay this tribute to our beloved father in the Lord, Late Rev. Dr. Julius Bamidele Odofin (JP) a.k.a. Agbaoye 1.
Papa was more than a church leader to me; he was a caring father, mentor, counselor, and prayer warrior. One thing I will never forget was his unwavering commitment to praying for my success. During my years as the Headteacher of ECWA Nursery and Primary School, Challenge Compound, Mushin, he never missed an opportunity to pray for me. Whenever we met, he would speak words of blessings, encouragement, and divine favor over my life and work. His concern extended beyond me to my family. He consistently prayed for my husband and me, asking God to strengthen our marriage, bless our ministry, and prosper the work of our hands. At every Pastors' and Pastors' Wives' Fellowship Retreat, Papa faithfully lifted us up in prayer and shared godly counsel that guided us through different seasons of life and ministry.
One of the things I will greatly miss about Papa was his pure, sincere, and contagious smile. His smile radiated warmth, love, kindness, and genuine affection, instantly putting people at ease. There was nothing artificial about it; it reflected the purity of his heart and his love for God and humanity. Whenever he greeted us with that beautiful smile, it communicated acceptance, encouragement, and fatherly care. His warm greetings and cheerful presence always brought joy and comfort to those around him. His wisdom, fatherly advice, and genuine concern for our well-being brought comfort and direction whenever we faced challenges. He was always willing to listen, encourage, and point us back to God's promises.
Though Papa is no longer with us physically, the impact of his prayers, counsel, love, and cheerful spirit will remain in my heart forever. I thank God for the privilege of knowing him and for the blessings I received through his life and ministry. Papa, thank you for your prayers, guidance, love, and investment in our lives. Your legacy lives on in the many lives you touched for Christ. Your pure smile may no longer be seen by our eyes, but its warmth and the memories it created will remain in our hearts forever.

I came to know Rev Dr Julius Bamidele Odofin in the first instance many years back when I just joined Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) Mushin while he was the Youth Leader for the Youth Fellowship of ECWA Mushin. He was an exemplary leader and a great mentor to some of us then. I became endeared to him for the abundance of God’s grace upon him, the wealth of his knowledge of God’s word , his simplicity, jovial nature to everyone and his passionate commitment to see the church of God grow. It is needful to mention that his style of leadership, high level of commitment to the spiritual growth of the youth at that time contributed to my decision to making ECWA Mushin my local church as at then.
I also had the opportunity to serve under him briefly when he subsequently became the Senior Minister of the joint ECWA Mushin Board .By virtue of my role as the then Secretary for ECWA Mushin English Board; I became closely acquainted with him and I knew Rev Dr Julius Bamidele Odofin as a man endowed with divine wisdom, full of great initiatives and innovative ideas for kingdom business.
During his pastoral assignment as Senior Minister at ECWA Mushin, by the grace of God he initiated the House Fellowship arrangement in various homes. God also used him to kick-start the publication of House Fellowship manuals for use in the various House Fellowship centers of ECWA Mushin.
He played a very key role in mobilizing and encouraging various church members who hitherto were not identified with any service unit to join the church workforce in the various service units. He further initiated and coordinated the periodic meetings of church workers during the period of his assignment at ECWA Mushin which in turn significantly improved the level of commitment and quality of service among church workers in the various service units. The church workers forum since then became a very impactful forum till date in ECWA English Mushin.
Truly, Rev Dr Julius Bamidele Odofin was indeed a very kind-hearted, loving, jovial, and friendly, personality .He was someone who readily identify with all church members irrespective of your age, background, tribe, occupation, social status, whether rich or poor.
We give God the glory for using him to impact many lives during his ministry of which I am a beneficiary of God’s wonderful grace upon his life and ministry. No doubt, we will miss him but our consolation is that he lived for Christ and died in Christ.
We cannot but say “ IT IS WELL ! IT IS WELL! IT IS WELL!””

Rev'd J. B. Odofin was more than a pastor; he was a divine gift to the body of Christ and a rare vessel through whom God touched countless lives. He was a father to the fatherless, a grandfather to many generations, a counselor to the troubled, and a dependable friend to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
His life was a shining testimony of unwavering faith, humility, integrity, and sacrificial service. He carried the burdens of God's people with genuine compassion and led many souls to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. His wisdom was profound, his words were seasoned with grace, and his prayers brought comfort and hope to weary hearts.
As a spiritual father, Rev'd Odofin nurtured, encouraged, corrected, and inspired us. His leadership was marked by gentleness, patience, and a deep commitment to God's kingdom. He taught us not merely through sermons but through the exemplary life he lived daily. His unwavering devotion to God, his passion for holiness, and his love for humanity remain enduring lessons that will continue to guide us.
To many of us, he was a Spiritual Leader whose warm smile, fatherly embrace, and sincere concern made us feel loved and valued. He celebrated our victories, stood with us through our challenges, and constantly reminded us to trust in God's unfailing promises.
Though words cannot adequately express the depth of our loss, we take solace in the assurance that our beloved father has finished his earthly race victoriously and has gone to receive the crown of righteousness prepared for faithful servants of God.
Today, we do not merely mourn his departure; we celebrate a life exceptionally well lived. We celebrate a man whose footprints are deeply engraved in our hearts, whose legacy of faith will outlive generations, and whose impact will continue to speak long after his voice has become silent.

Rev Dr Julius Bamidele Odofin was diligent, organized, meticulous, and deeply committed to excellence in ministry. In his word, "Let your work speak for you" has always been his slang.
A product of ECWA Theological Seminary, Igbaja, who was posted to ECWA AGEGE between 1988 and 1992. He possessed an exceptional grasp of ECWA doctrine, liturgy, beliefs, traditions, and practices.
Baba belonged to a generation of ministers who believed that ECWA must move from local to a global stage and be able to compete favourably among the committee of churches world-wide.
He invested generously in the members, offering guidance, correction, encouragement, and wisdom whenever needed. He produced many evangelists and church planters during his time with us.
Our heartfelt condolences go to Mama Christiana Odofin, his beloved wife and faithful companion through the years, his children, grandchildren, and the entire Odofin family. We pray that the God of all comfort will sustain and strengthen them during this season of grief and loss.
Though Baba has departed this earthly scene, his legacy of faithfulness, integrity, diligence, humility, mentorship, and devoted service to Christ will continue to inspire generations of believers yet unborn.

Daddy opened his gate to me at 11.00pm in the night to a confused girl. When I said I don't know where to start, he said 'Start Anywhere'
That is the story of my birth by Agbaoye.

We had visited you and mummy and in your usual character you had fed us with words of wisdom and, thereafter we shared biscuits and soft drinks (our own emblem of the last supper 😂)
We reminisce about our days at DGM; your spiritual impactation and fatherly guidance to many of us back then.
Personally, I can't thank God enough for using you to be the one that shaped my spiritual life with your words of wisdom and realistic Christian doctrine. You will say "Olusemo, others may but you must not"
You recommended me to be one of the first set of Deacon to be ordained at DGM.
You were the one that named my first daughter "Abiodun" in 1995. You have even given your word to be the one to officially hand the girl to her husband when the time comes soon 😔
You will just drop by at our church; Harvest Intercontinental Church, Hammadiyya to check on us (because a handful of your babies at DGM were the ones managing the church) You won't leave us to ourselves but always come around to see how the work of God is progressing.
You even promised to honour our invitation for this year's Fathers Day just as you did last year.
Baba Odofin, you were a father and a mentor in a million.

Baba was a man of exemplary virtue, an epitome of wisdom, and a reservoir of paternal benevolence. To me and my family, he was more than a mentor; he was a pillar of encouragement and a guardian of destiny.
Our acquaintance with Baba spanned a decade. Upon our initial brief engagement, he discerned a spark of potential and graciously took a keen interest in my growth. On innumerable occasions, I had the privilege of conveying him, and in those moments, his fatherly counsel resonated deeply. His constant admonition was both succinct and profound: “Let your work speak for you.” That maxim has since become a compass for our ministry and life.
Today, though you have transited to glory, your legacy, your counsels, and your indelible imprint continue to resonate within us. Your memory remains evergreen, and your impact is irrevocable.

I reminisce over your life, and the many encomiums pouring in since your transition. They remind me of what you once told me about the popular Yoruba saying: “Igbà tí a bá kú l’àá d’ere” — that many people do not appreciate one’s worth until after death. How true those words now seem!
Though it is painful to lose you, there is also comfort in knowing that the Lord has called you to rest from your labour and recent pains. You fought your battles quietly, served faithfully, and carried burdens many never saw nor understood. Yet, through it all, you remained calm, visionary, disciplined, and deeply committed to the work of God.
One thing that stood you out was your ability to relate meaningfully across generations; young and old, no matter the tribe and colour, friends and foes. The elderly respected your wisdom, while the younger ones found in you a father, mentor, and friend. Your messages were always direct, thoughtful, and enriching, delivered with simplicity and clarity that made lasting impressions. You served the church with unusual dedication, both within and outside ECWA, carrying out your ecclesiastical responsibilities with seriousness, sincerity, and a genuine passion for the work of God. Many who passed through your teaching are teachers of The Word today. You also believed strongly in collective service, encouraging every member of your family, especially through the choir ministry, to participate actively in God’s vineyard.
Your contributions to the growth of ECWA in Lagos and the South-West remain monumental. From the old Southern DCC in Lagos, which later gave birth to several DCCs across the South-Western part of Nigeria, your labour and leadership left enduring footprints? In particular, the Lagos DCC, now existing as two DCCs, and the realisation of a nomenclature you had ever dreamed for the Mushin DCC transiting into Lagos West DCC, which God made you to witness, stands as part of the lasting fruits of your visionary ministry and administrative foresight.
The appreciation of your labour in the vineyard was powerfully demonstrated on the very day of your demise that a few hours after, we saw a strong delegation from Chief Dr. Ebenezer Obey the Juju Music maestro, led by his son, Folarin, coming into the living room to commiserate with the family. Notable, you served as the founding minister of Decross International Church, established by Dr. Ebenezer Obey, and over the years, you remained a vital bridge between the Obey family and the ECWA family; and even the fact that Ebenezer Obey himself once sang as a chorister of ECWA Mushin — another testimony to the enduring spiritual and relational legacy you helped to nurture even as a Youth Leader in ECWA. Even the Ajayis will not forget your early pastoral tutelage as a part time minister to workers in the Ajalyn Shoes Factory.
Indeed, heaven has gained a saint in triumph, though our hearts ache at the loss. Your impact on the Board of ECWA Theological Seminary Igbaja Alumni and on countless lives remains indelible.
Mama (Oya M), Bolu, Ope, Moyo, Yanmife (Bobo). May the Lord keep on keeping you going in the legacy Baba has planted in the family.

Late Agba Oye pastored me in ECWA Yoruba Mushin before he became the DCC secretary, hence sat under his teaching of God's word, thus give me better understanding of God's word on daily basis.
Baba was the one that preached on my wedding day in 2008, when he was the Chairman of our DCC, and I cannot forget the title of that message in a hurry " Igbeyawo: Ala todimimunse"
The title that I later used to composed a special song for another choir members on their wedding day.
When I became a Pastor by God's grace, baba will always greet me by saying "My boy with fresh anointing!
Agba Oye will always tell me to always use my gift of playing talking drum in developing the church I find myself to be a minister of the gospel.
Without exaggeration, I regard late Reverend Dr. Julius Bamidele Odofin(Agba Oye) to be one the big trees, that is more than a thousand tree in the forest of pastoral ministry.

If I call you a father, you are. If I call you a friend, you are.
You are my father, my friend, my uncle, my relation, my boss, my member, my leader, my family and ten thousand other things. I remember growing up and going to youth camp, seeing you everywhere, always present. When you became the Christian Education Organizer, there was one vivid night. We were still using the Methodist camp in Agbowa, not yet in our campground, and the generator was not working well. You literally stood at the conference holding the wires together so we could have illumination. That image never left my mind. Your commitment was second to none.
Your passion, your sacrifice, your tenacity, your energy, your ideas, your push. All these made you exceptional. No wonder you have so many enemies, because you cannot carry all these virtues without your enemies increasing.
When ECWA Akute was starting, by your administration, yourself and Reverend M.D. Adeboye, I had just finished seminary and joined the church passively. After Pastor Matthew left, a caretaker committee was appointed and I was one of them. Even though I had finished seminary, I never wanted to be a pastor.
One day I came to the district office to collect the Sunday School manual. There was a form with a space for pastor. I left it blank. You asked me a clear question: "Who is the pastor of the church?" I said we didn't have one. You asked what I was doing there. I said I came to represent. Then you said, "You are the pastor. Write it there. There's an interview next week for pastors, if you are willing."
That was how I came. And I was employed on a letter without letterhead, which eventually caused problems at the time, because letters of employment then were not on letterhead. Everybody employed before 2000 can check their file; none of it is on letterhead.
On January 21, 2001, when I saw the letter of assessment to a young church that didn't even have a place of worship, I quickly wrote to the DCC that I wanted to work without collecting salary. That was the beginning of my own challenges, and it created a problem for you as well. I was simply thinking, how would this church pay? So I worked for years without assessment, and the church was able to accomplish a lot. It was a blessing in disguise, and I was happy we did it. At the end of four years, when the DCC was split into two and more manpower was needed, I was called back to salary without discussion, without any letter. Because it was not a day for controversy.
I am only bringing you back to the things you have done.
My marriage, you conducted the counseling and joined us. You are my wife's relative and my relative as well. Your mother is from my clan. You are the one who named my two children. This one is new after you gave me letter of employment.
When the vision of Mega came, you spearheaded it. You believed in it and ran with it. You made sure Mega started before you left office. I was against the location of the first one because that was not the plan, you said, "Let us start," and we did. The rest is history.
To your credit, you started this vision, this movement. The story of Mega cannot be complete without you, and by the grace of God, myself and APS are the frontiers of this movement.
Each time you call me Aburo, I feel that may not be the right word. We are from the same place, Odo Ere. In those days, I would see you go to the village to organize buses, concerts, bringing your children to sing, the Odofin dynasty during Christmas. All of that took enormous energy.
You helped me understand that ECWA's position would not last. ECWA will not give you money. ECWA will only give you platform and people. So I quickly readjusted and started building myself outside the system, knowing the system might not sustain me. That actually helped me. So I say thank you to you.
When your crises from ministry came, you were ready to forgive, ready to move on, ready to advance. I know for certain that you are a child of God. I have no doubt in my spirit. Only that many do not understand you, just as they do not understand me.
You are a father. You are a friend. You are very free. When you enter a place, everybody knows you are there. We cannot forget your commitment, to humanity, to the Church of God, to Odo Ere. You are a problem solver. You helped the system achieve a great deal.
Getting to Alakuko church, my recent posting and meeting you there as a member sent a great message to me that I will soon be a member and the Minister in Charge.
In the recent time when you asked me to come and see you, and I asked how soon and how urgent, you told me to leave everything and come and plan, to cancel my appointments. Which I did. I canceled everything and sat down to plan with you.
I can only say thank you to God for giving you to us, and thank God our paths crossed. Our story can never be complete without you, because you have been part of it from the beginning, from ministry, to marriage, to children, to everything. You are always there, and you never hide it. You are always happy to be part of us.

My first encounter with Daddy Odofin was one filled with a mixture of emotions. I attended the same secondary school as his son, Nathaniel. One day during our junior secondary school years, Nathaniel told me that his father had asked to see me and wanted me to come home with him.
Naturally, I was nervous and confused. I wondered if I had done something wrong. When we arrived at their home, Daddy came out to meet us. He explained that he would often ask his son who usually rivaled him academically, and Nathaniel always mentioned my name. At that moment, I was convinced I was about to be questioned or reprimanded. But to my surprise, Daddy did the exact opposite.
He spoke kindly to me, commended my efforts, and encouraged me to keep striving for excellence. I left that day deeply moved, asking myself, What kind of father encourages his son's academic rival to do even better? I found only one answer: a good father.
That encounter revealed the kind of man Daddy Odofin was, a father not only to his children but to many others whose lives he touched. He was a great man of God, a mentor, an encourager, and one of the few people who would gladly give of himself for the advancement of the Gospel of Christ. His generosity, humility, and genuine love for people reflected the character of the Master he served.
It is still difficult to come to terms with the fact that you are gone. We had hoped and prayed that you would remain with us much longer. Yet, we take comfort in knowing that while we loved you dearly, God loved you even more and has called you home to eternal rest.
Thank you for the lives you impacted, the values you exemplified, and the legacy of faith you have left behind. Your memory will remain a blessing to all who knew you.

“I have known Revd. Odofin since my early years at ECWA Agege. He fondly called me “Omoteteye” (Omokekere), meaning “small boy,” and he continued to call me that even the last time I spoke briefly with him in 2024.
Revd. Odofin lived a life worthy of emulation. His appearance, humility, love, calmness in speech, and the genuine care he showed to my family over the years left a lasting impression on me.
He and my father affectionately referred to themselves as “Apostle” and “Epistle.” They shared a close and special bond, which makes the news of his passing even more painful.
As General Secretary of ECWA, Revd. Odofin brought remarkable transformation and positive changes to the organization. His leadership, vision, and dedication to God’s work impacted countless lives and strengthened the ministry.
Sir, God’s General, you will be greatly missed. Thank you for your faithful service in the ministry. Thank you for your love, kindness, and care for everyone whose life you touched.

The General, Rev. Dr. Julius Bamidele Ọ̀dọ̀fin, has laid down his sword — not in surrender or defeat but in victory, signalling the end of his earthly war against obstacles and human frailties. We are missing you already. Missing your loving smiles, keen and penetrating intelligent gaze, quiet strength that carried on when others retreated. Missing your leadership. I am personally missing your embrace, a tight hug, and validating word spoken September 10, 2023 when you said: “You have sent me back to my library”. I will continue to carry that with me as you bid us goodnight, particularly because it was also a message that you didn’t quit studying even in retirement.
Sir, you are sagacious (oh, I feel you are still here and tenses about you cannot be in the past). The church is missing your sagacity, always showing keen mental discernment, good judgment, and practical wisdom. I first encountered this gift directly at ECWA Marine Beach in early 2000 when I was privileged to be a co-minister with you at a youth conference. A statement encouraging the youth to pursue their tertiary education even when they would eventually end up a pastor alluded that many pursued Seminary education as a second option. You didn’t allow the insinuation to slide when you later manned the pulpit but declared that many like yourself were established in secular careers before answering the Call to Ministry. With the benefit of the hindsight, I seem to think, rightly or wrongly, that the Church would have gained more from you but for the non-bivocational policy of ECWA in your own time.
We are missing a man of God that is proud of being a Shepherd. Your excitement as a pastor was remarkable. You wore your clergy identity, clerical gown or not, like a true badge of honour—which it is—till the end of your sojourn on this side of eternity.
Your confident, eloquent, and unparalleled carriage is another legacy we are missing. This, in addition to your super command of English that flowed effortlessly, ignited God’s pulpits with Word-fire and attracted people to God wherever you ministered. [On a lighter mood, despite this trying time: It didn’t cross my mind to ask before now, but I guess I can humbly ask Mummy Christiana Ọdọfin later whether these godly endowments, aside from the primary God’s leading, added to her resolve to say “Yes” to your marriage proposal.]
We are missing a true leader. A discipler at Home and in Church who like Abraham commanded his children after him to walk in the way of the Lord. “The sons of a priest are priests”, echoed Rev. Dr. Julius Adegbola some years back, referencing Exodus 28:1. We see your children, not exempting your daughter, following and serving Jesus as priests in one capacity or another. Well done, sir 🫡! You discipled many of us too as your children in your Ecclesiological ministry. Again, well done sir 🫡! We pledge to carry on your legacies in the church and in our homes—the legacies of discipleship and ministry of the Word, discipline, love and passion, elegance, and confidence.
May Mummy Odofin, her children and grandchildren, the entire Odofin dynasty, Rev. Odofin’s faith community and his community of descent, be comforted by the Holy Spirit. May we find grace now and hereafter to come to terms with the will of the Lord Jesus—Rev. Odofin’s Commander-in-Chief—who chose to call him Home now, having certified him to have fought a good fight, finished his course, and kept the faith.

I watched as you were humiliated. I watched people say terrible and painful things about you. Yet, you never looked back.
You never allowed bitterness to distract you. Instead, you kept your eyes fixed on the assignment God gave you. That is what I call a life well finished. I know the Arugbo Ojo Himself will be saying Kaabo Omo Odo rere.
Some of those you raised, mentored, loved, and invested your life in even turned against you and betrayed you. But I am not surprised, because they did the same thing to our Lord Jesus Christ.
The servant is not greater than his Master. Yet, like Christ, you chose forgiveness over bitterness, love over revenge, and grace over resentment.
Your sacrificial lifestyle still speaks volumes. Like my brother in-law Pastor Nath wrote in his tributes "Beaten, yet not broken. Stabbed repeatedly by those you loved and served, yet you never lost your smile"
Even more astonishing, you kept cleaning the wounds of those who rose against you. You responded to hatred with kindness, betrayal with grace, and opposition with love.
Even after retirement, they still came after you. I remember when you were transferred to Alakuko. At your level in ministry, many would have considered it an insult. When I heard about it, I told my wife your princess that if it were me, I would have submitted my resignation letter immediately. But you embraced the transfer with joy, went there without complaint, and impacted countless lives.
That singular action broke me down and remains one of the greatest lessons of humility I have ever witnessed.
Agbaoye, you have gone to rest now, leaving many behind to continue their struggles and choices. Whether they learn or not, one thing is certain, Heaven is recording everything.
I called you Dad, and I mean it from the depths of my heart. Your humility, your endurance, your selfless service, and your lifestyle taught me lessons that no classroom could ever teach.
Thank you for showing us what it means to serve God faithfully until the very end.

“Here is the land of opportunity. If you don't make it right here, there is no second chance in the life after. The rich man begged father Abraham to send to his family. He said, "For I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment"(Luke16:28). Is that not generosity?. Yes!, but it is a generosity to be offered too late. It is already post motel.
Whatever you want to do now, do it immediately and expeditiously before it is too late. Father Abraham replied, "They have Moses and the prophet, let them listen to them. If they do not listen to them..., they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead"( Luke 16:29,31).
Sometime in year 2025, in my dream, Rev. Dr. Odofin( of blessed memory) came to me. He asked me to help him locate a Church in our community where prayer was going on. I directed him to the Church.
After a while, I decided to go and see him there. By the time I got there, to my amusement, I saw him in a T-shirt on a nicker, and was sweating profusely as he was praying.It was a great challenge for me as I awoke from my sleep.
Let not your weakness define you. Whatever you must do to make it right with God, do it now and immediately without delay. No one knows when the heavenly call will sound. The reason it is dangerous to delay. As the end of a matter is better than the beginning,
On the morning of 28th, May 2026 after l finished my prayer by 4.00am, l slept again, within that short time in my dream, I was in a big hall with many of our Church members. I sat together with Rev. Dr. Ezekiel Omidiji, suddenly, Rev. Dr. Julius Odofin came in in a glowing mini Babariga, the sight was dazzling.
Cheerfully, he was greeting everybody with handshake, some people he hugged.
Curiously, l interjected to asked him, why are you still here when already you had left us?. We don't expect you to be here again, I said to him, but he continued cheering everybody up, giving them hand shakes and hugging.
When he now gave us his attention, l asked him, Your family is not here with us, what message would you like me to give them since your demise was sudden and unexpected?. Then he said, " All that they need to know they had heard from me". I understand this to be that he had already handed to every member of the family a lasting legacy. He did not wait till it would be too late to do anything.
When he was to leave as l was preparing to see him off, then l woke up from my sleep.
Other Lessons to learn, "What God gives when life takes" is well defined in this revelation. When King Josiah at 39th was brutally murdered by Pharoah Nico which resulted into a national tragedy, this was the heaven's interpretation of the incident as declared by Prophet Isaiah. He said, "The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart, the devote are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil.
Those who walk uprightly enter into peace, they find rest as they lie in death"( Isaiah 57: 1-2 ). The glowing reappearance of a man who was left in a hospital bed with unbearable pain before the Lord took him is a testimony to the reality of the promise for the dead who die in the Lord,..."they will rest from their labour, for their deeds will follow them"(Rev. 14:13).
In addition, their tears have been wiped away, no more mourning, no crying, no pain, for the old order has passed away"(Rev. 21:4). These are just part of what God gives when life takes. If you will like "to die the death of the righteous so that your end will be like them", you can not but make it right with God to have Jesus as your Saviour and Lord. Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they're die, and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?( John 11: 25-26 ).
We thank God for his unquantifiable grace, Rev. Dr. Julius Odofin had left us but the legacies he left behind speak on. What legacy or legacies will you live behind when your time comes?.

“Condolence Tribute to the Odofin Family and the Royal Ambassadors Community
Our heartfelt condolences go to the Late Dr Rev Julius Bamidele Odofin family, especially to matriarch leadership, His kids, direct relatives, and all of us within the Royal Ambassadors community. Indeed, we have lost a great founding patron of our community, he has faithfully and graciously supported our community throughout the years with Rev Mrs Odofin been the hand and direct coordinator of Royal Ambassador household.
For the Gbujie family, this glorious event will be deeply personal to me, my siblings and @Ifeanyi Olusegun Ambass, my and younger sister @Amaka we were all alumni of the DeCross Royal Ambassadors branch of our community in the late 1990s. We grew up alongside Moyo, Bolu, Caleb, Nathaniel, Sunday and many others under the guidance and influence of Reverend Mrs Odofin. It has been a beautiful and meaningful connection that shaped many of our Christian lives and our sociocultural reality as ambassador of Christ.
While we will miss Dr. Julius Bamidele Odofin physically, we can all find comfort in the enduring legacy he leaves behind. The spirit of community, peace, brotherhood, discipline, and love that he taught us will continue to remain with us. Though he has gone to rest, we believe he has joined the saints in glory.
Some who struggled found restoration and rehabilitation through the love, structure, and spiritual guidance of the Royal Ambassadors community. Today, the fruits of his labor continue to shine through us. Those still singing continue to sing with excellence, and even those who no longer sing carry lifelong lessons learned through fellowship and service. I (Daniel) still remember vividly our trip to Obafemi Awolowo University to minister. Before we departed from the DeCross headquarters in Agege, Reverend Odofin called us and later spoke to me and said, “Do well, sing with your heart let God be glorified, know your lines, and watch out for one another. Because someone day you Daniel and especially Ifeanyi will be great ambassador for the kingd .” He prayed for us before we boarded the bus, and we journeyed together to Obafemi Awolowo University, ministered in song, and returned safely. That moment has remained with me as a reflection of his care, leadership, and fatherly concern. He consistently supported the Cross, encouraged our vision, and stood faithfully beside his beloved wife in ministry and service.
As Scripture teaches us, he fought the good fight, kept the faith, and finished his course (2 Timothy 4:7). It is not for us to question God’s will, but rather to appreciate the privilege of witnessing a life that was intentionally lived in service to God and humanity, trusting that “to everything there is a season” (Ecclesiastes 3:1) and that God’s purposes endure beyond our understanding (Isaiah 55:8–9). Reverend Julius B. Odofin made himself available to be used by God in a very special way, building a spiritual home for young boys and girls, many of whom found direction, discipline, healing, and purpose through his mentorship. In this, he reflected the heart of Christ, who said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” (Matthew 19:14; see also Mark 10:14). His care for young people embodied the biblical calling to “train up a child in the way he should go” (Proverbs 22:6), and many of us stayed away from trouble because of the godly values he instilled in us. Through his example, we witnessed the truth that faithful service to others is service unto God (Matthew 25:40). Rev. Dr. Julius Odofin principles, his faith, and his belief in raising young men to live purposefully and according to God’s values will continue to influence generations. In this spirit, after family discussions involving Daniel, Ifeanyi and Amaka and our biological parents who remain longstanding supporters of the Odofins family and their ministry, we have resolved to stand with the Odofin family during this time and extend our little support contribution of ₦1,000,000 (One Million Naira). And Upon presentation of the designated account, the funds will be made available within minutes. Furthermore, the Gbujies has designated my blood brother, who was our former choir master and a close family friend of Odofins to be our representative, he is to represent our interests, and keep us informed regarding any further arrangements associated with the burial rites. Reverend Odofin, continue to rest in the bosom of the Almighty.
We will carry forward the baton you passed to us: to live by God’s principles, to let our lives shine brightly before men so they may glorify our Father in heaven, and to remain faithful to the message of redemption, peace, and salvation. May soul rest in perfect hands of the Almighty. Amen.
